Phil Goldsmith has held senior positions in a broad spectrum of fields including law, journalism, business and government. Most recently he was managing director of the City of Philadelphia.
He is now a columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News, writing every other Wednesday and is a principal in GoldsmithKahn Associates, a public issues management consulting firm.
Habitat just doesn't do new construction; it also does rehab. This is the 1900 block of Gratz Street, which is between 19th and 18th Street. These homes have been rehabbed by Habitat and are now inhabited. The reason Habitat also does rehab is because the cost of land has soared in Philadelphia with the hot real estate market. Rehab is more affordable than purchasing the land and doing new construction.
